Chinese scientists make breakthrough in replacing WiFi with LiFi

Chinese scientists have made a breakthrough in creating full-color emissive carbon dots (F-CDs), which brings them one step closer to developing a faster wireless communication channel that could be available in just six years.
Chinese scientists make breakthrough in replacing WiFi with LiFi

According to Wikipedia, Li-Fi is a bidirectional, high-speed and fully networked wireless communication technology similar to Wi-Fi.

Light Fidelity, known as LiFi, uses visible light from LED bulbs to transfer data much faster than radio wave-based WiFi.

While most current research uses rare earth materials to provide the light for LiFi to transmit data, a team of Chinese scientists have created an alternative -- F-CDs, a fluorescent carbon nanomaterial that proves to be safer and faster.

"Many researchers around the world are still working on this. We were the first to successfully create it using cost-effective raw materials such as urea with simple processing," said Qu Songnan, an associate researcher at Changchun Institute of Optics, Fine Mechanics and Physics, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, which leads the research.

Qu said rare earth has a long lifespan which reduces the speed of LiFi transmission. However, F-CDs enjoy the advantage of faster data transmission speeds.

In previous studies, carbon dots were limited to the emission of lights such as blue and green. The new nanomaterial that Qu's team has developed can emit all light visible to the human eye, which is a breakthrough in the field of fluorescent carbon nanomaterial.

Qu said this is significant for the development of LiFi, which he expects to enter the market in just six years.

A 2015 test by a Chinese government ministry showed that LiFi can reach speeds of 50 gigabytes per second, at which a movie download can be completed in just 0.3 seconds.

Whatsapp Planning to Include these features: Share Stories, Revoke a Text and Location Tracking

WhatsApp is undoubtedly one of the largest Instant Messaging app in the world with lots of features introduced almost every day. Not long ago, we heard that WhatsApp is testing real time location tracking which is already available on some iOS beta and some Android beta testers. By default it is not enabled.

Also, WhatsApp is testing a few features on Android (possibly on other platforms too) to let you cancel a text that hasn't been received yet, aside of the location sharing with chat friends, we also have a Snapchat-like disappearing post.

Android: Live Location feature, that tracks the live location of other group participants (DISABLED BY DEFAULT).

The location sharing as posted few days ago, if enabled you'll be able to share your location with trusted people for 1, 2, 5 minutes or indefinitely. This will also work in group chats.

WhatsApp is also testing a new feature similar to Snapchat's Stories. You could add a photo with a caption or a doodle and it will disappear in 24 hours.

We are still waiting to see any of these features if at all they’ll find their way to the normal whatsapp.

Whatsapp had earlier stated that their decision to abort rendering service to some mobile device is to serve people better, without much ado WhatsApp Messaging app is seriously making a lot of improvements every now and then. I’m pretty sure you are all enjoying the video call features now.

Another update will soon be unleash, and I bet, you’ll love it because so many times you might have sent messages that are meant to be for your friend to someone else and you don’t know how to delete it… but with the feature coming, it will tackle it.

Latest reports suggest that WhatsApp is testing a new feature that will allow users to 'revoke' a sent message, edit it and send it again.
WhatsApp revoke new features

For the same, reports said WhatsApp is getting Gmail's coolest feature: Recalling sent messages.
This feature is also said to have appeared on WhatsApp beta version 2.17.1.869 on iOS.

While 'revoke' and edit is definitely a cool thing, what is more magical about the feature is that the 'recalled' message will reportedly disappear or get deleted from the recipients mobile too.

Those who have groups will find this feature handy, as you will be able to edit sent messages, delete sent messages. I must say this new feature is going to be cool.

How to Turn Your Laptop into Touchscreen Using AirBar

Do you know you can now turn your non-touchscreen laptop into touchscreen? I guess you think that's strange right, Actually I was overwhelmed when I saw the display of the new gadget in action. This gadget turns any old or new laptop into a touch screen laptop completely.
turn your PC into touchscreen
PC Using AirBar
This new gadget is called AirBar, it's a lot easy to use, you don’t have to remove a single screw to do it, Once you’ve plugged it in to a USB port of laptop AirBar blankets your display with “an invisible light field,” which Neonode refers to as “zForce AIR technology.”

What you need to know about Airbar

AirBar is a slim module that is magnetically attached at the bottom of a PC’s display. When attached and plugged into the USB port the sensor is activated it then projects an invisible light field on the surface of your display that makes it possible to "touch" the screen and interact with Windows® 8 and 10 gestures. PC users can then interact with their devices using familiar touch actions like swiping, pinching, zooming and scrolling. AirBar is a portable solution to be used at home, in the office, at school or when traveling and can be used with fingers, gloves, long fingernails and even paintbrushes.

AirBar doesn’t require any special software to work its magic. As long as it’s connected to a Windows 7, 8, or 10 machine — or a Chromebook — it’ll just work once it’s been plugged in. According to Neonode "we are still working on Mac support, but sure it’s coming". Airbar is a lot like the infrared big-screen add-ons made by keytec.

How Airbar Works

One of the coolest things about AirBar is that it doesn’t matter what you touch the screen with. You don’t have to use a special stylus or your fingers, Airbar Works with Brushes, with brush you can drag and drop the brushes to make a painting this is very interesting in this device because most of the touchscreen laptops doesn’t allows you to use brushes on the screen, it also works with Gloves this means if you are wearing a glove and you want to work on your laptop without removing your gloves so its amazing you can work smoothly. The reason you can use anything to touch is that the light field reacts to any disturbance. So raise your hand and make sure you're first in line.

AirBar Technical specifications

  • Display Size Supported: 15.6”, with an aspect ratio of 16:9
  • Width: 5 mm
  • Length: 373 mm (AirBar 15.6”)
  • Height: 12 mm (requires 15 mm mounting surface for 3 mm between AirBar and display)
  • Cable length: 243 mm
  • Weight: 55 g

This gadget is not out yet, but you can pre-order for it from the AirBar Official Website.

See The Unbelievable Turing Cadenza Smartphone with 1Terabyte Rom and12GB Ram, You won't believe it's Camera Pixel

Futuristic device is what I will call this but believe me a company in United States, Turing Robotic Industries (TRI) has anounced the release of  Turing Cadenza Smartphone what I call rear beast of smartphone.
Turing cadenza
The Turing Cadenza Smartphone is said to be powered by two Snapdragon 830 SoCs. The 830 is planned for release in early 2017, but why a phone would need two of them is hard to imagine. Maybe it's because the Cadenza is also supposed to ship with 12GB of RAM and the Snapdragon 830 only supports up to 8GB of RAM, so you would need two in order to make use of 12GB of RAM.
The Cadenza is said to have dual 20-megapixel front cameras and a 60-megapixel Quad Rear Camera, Wow! Triplet Lens/T1.2" on a phone that must be an F1.2 aperture lens.
Turing 1terabyte

Also Read: Check Out The New Gionee F5 With amazing Specs

For connectivity, you'll get four nanoSIM slots (because why not) and WiGig. And, obviously powering a device like this will take a lot of juice, so the Cadenza will have maybe the least believable thing on the whole spec sheet, which is 100wh from three power sources: a 2400mAh graphene superconductor battery, a 1600mAh lithium ion battery, and a hydrogen fuel cell.

With this unbelievable spec people need proof, despite the dismissive response from the tech media, TRI CEO and Chief Architect Steve Chao remains unfazed. "I think the reaction was exactly as you should expect. People need to see proof before believing."
Turing
But does a phone really need more than one chipset driving it? And when your average PC only has around 4GB of RAM, surely 12GB in a phone is overkill? Not in TRI's opinion.

"Phones are no longer just phones, they have evolved from a calling device to an all-function digital device that resembles the combination of a desktop computer, camera, GPS navigator, game console and more. We have yet to see the full potential of a phone," says Chao.

The Turing Cadenza is surely a phone for the future to the present.

Watch Massive TEB-1 Bus Passing Over Cars In China

Technology now is an inevitable part of our society. From waking up in the morning to preparing breakfast and dinner. Technology changes drastically with the rise of each day, and with this, our life also shuffles back and forth, we almost depend on technology. Technology sometimes has a bad reputation but we're not emphasizing that today.

Has we know China is the most populated country in the world, because of this movement is now a gridlock and emission of toxic waste from combustible engines is increasing, This has made China to come up with a first of its kind technological breakthrough called TEB-1 or Transit Elevated Bus made to pass over cars while moving or standing.

The video below depicts the computer generated view of the massive bus passing over cars

You can watch the video in this link 👉 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jhfUn2Zen00

The impressive and rather alarming vehicle -- imagine being literally overtaken by it -- houses passengers 4.8 meters (15.6 feet) above the road, and was first revealed as a concept back in May.

Raised up on rails on either side of a two-lane highway, the "straddling bus" glides over China's notoriously intense traffic and is much cheaper than building an underground train system, according to The Guardian. Each TEB-1 carries up to 300 people.

See Everything You Need To Know About iPhone 7

It's time to mark your calendars, folks. According to reputable leaker Evan Blass, Apple's highly anticipated iPhone 7 is set to hit store shelves on Friday, September 16th.

Now as for what type of features the iPhone 7 will bring to the table, it's believed that Apple is saving its most jaw-dropping new features for the iPhone 7s (which may be called the iPhone 8). That notwithstanding, the iPhone 7 might very well be more interesting than many people are giving it credit for, in large part due to what may be a huge leap forward in camera technology.

It's long been assumed that the iPhone 7 Plus will receive an advanced dual camera system, but recent product leaks indicate that the camera module on the 4.7-inch iPhone 7 is significantly larger and protrudes to a greater degree than the module found on the iPhone 6s. And given how impressive the iPhone 6s camera is, it stands to reason that the camera on the iPhone 7 will be an absolute game-changer.

As a quick point of interest, the following video purports to show what a leaked iPhone 7 looks like next to an iPhone 6s.

What's more, rumors also indicate that Apple with the iPhone 7 will finally abandon the 16GB entry-level model. Instead, it's believed that the storage tiers for the iPhone 7 will be 32GB, 64GB and 128GB. While there have been some rumblings of a 256GB model being made available, those rumors have been sketchy at best.

And of course, we'd be remiss if we didn't mention that the iPhone 7 -- according to a number of credible reports -- will not ship with a traditional 3.5mm headphone jack, a controversial design decision to say the least. Consequently, Apple will likely ease us into that transition by providing a lightning to 3.5mm dongle (at no extra cost) inside every iPhone 7 box.

Tumblr is Launching Live Video Today

Twitter has Periscope. Amazon has Twitch. Google has YouTube’s live streaming. And Facebook has Facebook Live. Now, Tumblr is getting into live video, too. The company is preparing to launch a new live video feature on its service, beginning tomorrow, which will introduce a series of live broadcasts as well as a user-facing feature that could compete with Facebook Live, among other things.
Currently, Tumblr is cryptically teasing the new addition via promos on the Tumblr blog livevideo.tumblr.com, which was first spotted by David Chartier, who posted a tweet:

Tumblr plans to compete in the fast-crowding live video space, according to a promotional webpage unearthed by Twitter user David Chartier over this past weekend. The page, livevideo.tumblr.com, features a programming schedule and a launch date of June 21st, though the date may not be set in stone. TechCrunchconfirmed today the images are indeed Tumblr advertising material for the new platform. It's unclear how the company's live video ambitions will shape up, and whether it will resemble anything like Facebook Live, Twitter's Periscope, or Amazon-owned Twitch.
